The Birth and History
“What began as an idea mowing lawns for seniors in high school and volunteering in nursing homes as a youth, grew into a dream to keep seniors at home.” – co-owner Steve Parrott
Steve always dreamed that his career would ultimately lead him to assisting seniors. Prior to RetireEASE, Steve gained experience in the medical and healthcare industry in management and consulting capacities in preparation for the realization of RetireEASE Senior Services. Joined by his wife, Julie-Ann, a Certified Senior Advisor®, they bring experience and strength unmatched in the industry. Julie-Ann is a talented team builder and trainer gaining experience from her corporate experiences while living in Atlanta, Georgia. “Everyday it is my mission to build a team that shares the RetireEASE vision and commitment toward the seniors in our community. No other company provides the training or accountability measures that we do. That is why we are second to none”, states Julie-Ann. Both Steve and Julie-Ann are also proudly involved in a number of church organizations, civic and non-profit organizations.
Steve and Julie-Ann find it gratifying to help seniors achieve their goals. They understand the key health issues most seniors are facing as well as the social and financial factors that are important to aging adults.
Meet the Owners
Steve is a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and spent many years in healthcare sales, management and executive placement. Steve was raised in Camden, SC and relocated back to the Columbia area in 2000 with his wife and three children to start a senior care company serving the midlands. After starting RetireEASE in 2003, Steve and Julie-Ann strive to serve seniors with the highest caliber of Companion and Personal caregivers in homes, facilities, hospitals, and retirement communities.
Steve is active in a number of professional groups in the midlands and is a requested speaker on various parent care issues. Steve joined with Dr. Skipper in 2008 to become the co-host of The Parent Care Show on WVOC AM 560AM which airs locally each week on Saturday from 11-12noon.
Steve is a Certified Senior Advisor
Joined by his wife, Julie-Ann, a Certified Senior Advisor, Steve has a partner who shares his same passion for the health and well being of the seniors in their community. Julie-Ann is a talented team builder and trainer gaining knowledge from her corporate experiences while living in Atlanta, Georgia. “Every day it is my mission to build a team that shares the RetireEASE vision and commitment. No other company provides the training or accountability measures that we do, that is why we are second to none”, says Julie-Ann. Unexpectedly, Julie-Ann and Steve found themselves in a care giving situation when her mother was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease. While her health steadily declined ultimately ending in her death, she was able to stay at home because of the care giving services available in her area. “We understand the stress families face while making life care decisions for their loved ones.” As President, Julie-Ann currently oversees the daily office operations and support team for the company.
