Veteran Eligibility Checklist
You may be eligible if the veteran:
- Served on active duty and was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable
- Served at least 90 days of active duty, with at least one day during a wartime period
- Needs help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, meal prep, or mobility
- Has a limited income or high medical/care expenses relative to income
- Is age 65 or older, or has a qualifying disability
Surviving Spouse Eligibility Checklist
You may also qualify if:
- You were married to the veteran at the time of their death
- The veteran met the wartime service requirements above
- You have not remarried
- You meet the same income and care-need guidelines
